Tourist Attractions of Hilly Masuria
The property is situated 1.5 kilometres from the municipality of Dubeninki, where you will find: a Primary School, Municipal Office, Post Office, Health Centre, Pharmacy, Municipal Cultural Centre, Church, Cooperative Bank, and grocery shops. The regional capital is the spa town of Goldap with its brine graduation towers, located 20 km from Zielone Tarasy. Dubeninki and its surroundings belong to the Hilly Masuria region and the Natura 2000 network. Hilly Masuria is one of the most beautiful and most attractive tourist regions in Poland. It forms the western edge of the Suwalki Lake District and the eastern part of Masuria. The area is dominated by stunning landscapes unspoiled by civilisation, full of natural wonders, charming nooks and historical mysteries. The absence of large factories, a very low and still declining population density, and a low level of agricultural chemical use mean that the water and air here are clean and teeming with flora and fauna. Nowhere else will you find such a large population of white storks, black storks and cranes. Thanks to all these attractions, Hilly Masuria offers tourists excellent scenic, recreational and sightseeing conditions. The Szeskie Hills, towering above the area, provide unforgettable experiences once known to the indigenous Yotvingian tribes who inhabited these lands. Today, traces of their presence in the form of hillforts can be found in many places throughout the region. The area is in places pristine: two landscape parks, seven nature reserves, hiking and cycling trails (including the Green Velo cycling highway) and numerous architectural monuments.
